Saul Nash partners with The Woolmark Company to bring skiwear to the streets

From the slopes to the streets, 2022 International Woolmark Prize winner, Saul Nash, unveils wool-rich pieces harnessing the benefits of Merino wool for genderless performance-inspired design.

Inspired by the crossover of skiwear into streetwear, Saul Nash’s latest collection – Juxtaposition – reinforces that Nash is no stranger to pushing boundaries. From a generously draped Merino wool sweater to a Merino wool-rich tracksuit with panelling around the arms for high-performance and compression, the collection stands at the forefront of performance-inspired design for the future.

The wool-rich Woolmark certified pieces can be worn by both men and women, highlighting the innovative potential of Merino wool for versatile design.

The body-mapped lines of the collection draw on the silhouettes of mountain ridges and journey the wearer through a palette of Alpine blues, moss greens and ski bunny creams, punctuated by deep blacks and bursting reds.

"For this collection we introduced our first seamless knitted compression tops developed with Eva & Carola. Through this partnership we were able to produce garments which not only fulfilled the style element within the collection but also create a fully functional performance garment that is built to last."

Juxtaposition interrogates both what it means to dress for the vast landscapes of cold climate adventure while also drawing attention to the fusion of skiwear with streetwear and the social milieu of ski culture.

“This is about escapism. Looking at the streets, where ski garments are worn, and then looking at the true context of where they were designed to be worn,” says Nash.
